Teenage Love Story With A Happy Ending

January 21, 2009

So there they are, walking hand in hand
And here I see a miracle from where I stand
He caresses her hair, she blows kisses to his cheek
There they sit, side by side, beside that little creek
And here I am, all alone…

So maybe I’ll stay right here, stare at the silver screen
A window to the kind of love I wish it could have been
‘Coz when the credits start to roll, I know there’s no such thing
As a teenage love story with a happy ending.

So off the couple goes, into love that is forever
And now I’m sitting here and I cannot help but wonder
When they hold each other’s hand, is it meant to be
Is there a very special girl waiting out there for me
And here I am, all alone…

So maybe I’ll stay right here, and read romantic novels
The turn of every page of a love only for angels
‘Coz when I reach the final line, I know there’s no such thing
As a teenage love story with a happy ending.

So they kiss and make love, all through the night
And now I’m lying here, watching all that delight
When they kiss each other’s lips, and listen to every whisper
Will I ever have that one sweet night that we will both remember
And here I am, all alone…

So maybe I’ll stay right here, love songs stuck in my head
Every chord and rhyme my heart could never comprehend
‘Coz when I reach the final note, I know there’s no such thing
As a teenage love story with a happy ending.

So the last thing on my mind, is you right here beside me
I see the tears well up your eyes from one romantic movie
When I hold your hand, look in your eyes, and ask what’s on your mind
There I know, right here with you, I know that love is blind
And I realize, I’m not alone…

So maybe I’ll stay right here, and hold your hand in mine
Whatever I am thinking of, I’ll lay it all on the line
‘Coz when it all comes down to this, I now know there’s such a thing
As a teenage love story with a happy ending.
